Membership - Chairperson, Janice Coppola
CNC's Membership Committee is responsible for processing new members' applications, presenting new members to the CNC Board of Directors for acceptance, and maintaining the CNC membership list.
Education & Publicity - Open
CNC's Education & Publicity Committee is responsible for promoting general public awareness of CNC, its mission, accomplishments, and objectives. In addition, this Committee produces and distributes environmental educational materials.
Land Acquisition - Chairperson, Vincent Coppola
CNC's Land Acquisition Committee is charged with identifying and developing opportunities to acquire land in the Chartiers Creek watershed for preservation. In addition, the Committee is charged with consummating land acquisition deals, converting acquired land to tax-free status (accorded CNC as a non-profit organization), and defending CNC's property rights and interests when threatened by entities and interest groups whose intentions are environmentally unfriendly.
Environmental Watch - Chairperson, Stephen Hudspeth
CNC's Environmental Watch Committee monitors public and private compliance with applicable state and federal environmental regulations and permits. Theis committee is also charged with monitoring compliance with zoning and other land use laws within environmentally sensitive areas along the Chartiers Creek. CNC's endeavors in this regard also benefit the general public which is thereby made aware of potential problems, and sometimes, the manner in which such compliane may b e achieved.
Land Use & Recreation - Open
CNC's Land Use & Recreation Committee identifies, develops and maintains environmentally friendly uses for CNC-owned lands. This committee's objective is to promote environmentally sound activities that permit enjoyment of preserved land. Examples of some activities include hiking, walking, and canoeing.
Trails - Chairperson, Tim Volk
CNC's Trails Committee is responsible for developing and maintaining walking and hiking trails on CNC-owned land.
Grant Writing - Chairperson, Vincent Coppola
CNC's Grant Writing Committee is responsible for drafting and submitting grant proposals to appropriate foundations and other grant-giving organizations. This Committee is responsible for raising grant funds essential for CNC to operate as an organization and engage in the land conservation and education activities in fulfillment of CNC's mission.
